Celebrating Birthdays This Month

As I shared on Saturday I send over 50 cards a month. to members of my Stamp Family.  These cards range from birthday, congratulations for sales, recruiting, promotions, welcome to new members, and anniversaries,  So today I thought I would share the birthday card that is going out this month.

I used the Big on Birthdays Stamp Set and the bee from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.  Did a little water coloring with the watercolor pencils and I have a cute birthday card.

I know it has been disappointing with the water color pencils going out of stock so soon.   Stampin' Up! is expecting a shipment of these pencils this week. Which will enable us to fill all back orders within the next few days.  At that time, they will also be able to accept orders for a period of time (depending on demand).  So watch for details coming soon.

Have you really took at good look at the Big On Birthdays?  It is such a beautiful set BUT??????  What does this mean?

Really????  Would someone put that on a card?  Okay I am sure I am missing something here.  What are your thoughts how would you use a stamp that says "At least your still pretty"?  Every time I say that I have to laugh.

So give me your thoughts.  How would you use this stamp?

The only time I've seen that stamp used was as a background. Stamp the image and then punch or cut out a flower to put over the sentiment. That would be the only way I would use it.

Even tongue in cheek, it's not something I would use. Saw this discussion on another blog I follow and the sentiments were the same there--folks were passing on it. The other stamps are pretty though...

Okay ladies, I took your advice and ask SU! for a sample of how they thought a stamp like this should be used. This is the answer I got "It's a tongue in cheek saying you may not be young anymore but at least you're still pretty. Just like a stamp that might say Happy 25th Birthday . . . again, might be used." Still not sold on that stamp but love the other stamps within the set. At least now I know how they intended it to be used.

The only way I would use it is to cut out the words, pitch them and then maybe figure out a way to just use the border.

I'm still considering getting this stamp set - but the only way that I would EVER use that stamp would be to say only to a very good friend "I know we're old, but at least your still pretty!" Then it actually seems a compliment!
