My Easter Card

#eastermessage #lindabauwin

Wanted to share my Easter Card with you, and to wish you a Blessed Easter Weekend.  I did this card as a Shoe Box Swap last weekend in Richmond Virginia and it was a big hit.

It uses the retiring Easter Message Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog.  I have had lots of stamps with crosses on them, but nothing as stunning as the cross from the Easter Message Stamp Set.  I also used the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder that is so elegant, and as you guessed it too is retiring.

Behind the cross, the sun rays just highlight the cross so well.  The sun rays come from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set, and this should come as no surprise, it too is retiring.  The grass is from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set, which is a surprise, is not retiring.

I used the Elegant Eggplant and the Early Espresso Classic Ink to add color with the Aqua Painter and then finished off my highlighting with the Wink of Stella.

Faux Layering Video

#fauxlayering #lindabauwin

Made this card at a Shoe Box Swap while I was at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage Event in Richmond VA.  So love Shoe Box Swaps as I always learn something knew.

For those of you that don't know what a Shoe Box Swap is, it is when you design a card, and all the supplies are to fit in a shoe box to make the card.   Every  one taking part in the shoe box makes your card and you make every one else's.

This card was made by a member of my Stamp Family Mary Rodgers from Rochester, NY.  She used the Big on Birthday Stamp Set, with the Floral Boutique and Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper, both of which are retiring.  She also used the Petite Petals Punch and the Project Life Punches they too are retiring, if they aren't gone already.

Mary taught me something new.  I had never used my Stampin' Write Marker to do Faux Layering.  As you see in the video, I have always used a sponge dauber and my ink pad.  But with the Stampin' Write Marker you get a different look.  When Mary did her card she just did a small line, mine is bold and not as uniform, but I love the look

Adorable Custom Tee Candy Holder

#customtee #linabauwin

Check out this adorable Custom Tee Candy Holder that was given to me this past weekend by Sherrie Robinson from Bowling Green, Ohio.  There are no words to explain how cute it is.  Here is a very from the side.

#candyholder #lindabauwin

It holds a Hershey Nugget and would made a perfect party favor for a little girls party.  Or change it up a bit for a Graduation Open House Favor.  The possibilities are endless.

With the Custom Tee Bundle from the Occasions Catalog making this little candy favor is a breeze to make.  Problem is though, it is not carrying over into the New 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  That means if you would like to make these adorable candy favors you need to act quick to get this bundle before it retires.

Here are the sizes and tips on how to make this little gem.  The collar and the little flower are from the Custom Tee Stamp Set and both have a framelits from the T-Shirt Framelits Dies.  That is why it is a must to order the bundle as all that you need is in that bundle.

  • Start with a 6" x 2-1/8" piece of card stock. On the 6" side score at 2-1/2", 3" and 3-1/2" marks.
  • Fold the card stock in half along the middle score line.
  • Arrange your Designer Series Paper with the T-shirt Framelit according to the diagram below.

#customtee #lindabauwin

  • Make sure you place the top cutting plate as shown in the diagram just above the cutting line of the bottom of the T-Shirt.
  • After checking the position of the framelit and top scoring plate, you may want to tape down with Washi Tape.
  • After cutting the dress free from the Designer Paper, run the other end through and cut out center

Give it a try it is so adorable.  But don't wait to order the Custom Tee Bundle as it soon will be gone.  Use the Hostess Code PEXMMHH2 to receive the free PDF on the Nailed It Bundle.

Pop Up Butterfly Card Video

#popupbutterflycard #lindabauwin

Here is the front of the card in today's video.  It uses two of the retiring Stampin' Up! Color Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder. I so love this color combination.

Have you checked out Stampin' Up!'s Retirement List yet?  Don't delay as the In Colors and accessories always go fastest.

I used the words from the Beautiful You Stamp Set, that is the Occasions Catalog.  I am happy to report this set along, with the Watercolor Wings that I made the butterfly from, will still be available in the New 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! catalog in June.  Along with the Layering Ovals and Stitched Framelits that make layering a breeze.

The inside of the card featured the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper.  You need to check out the video to see how I got this butterfly to pop up inside the card.

This technique can be used with so many of our dies.  You just need a solid cut out for the back image and and detailed cut out for the front.  Along with two pieces of card stock that measure 1/4" x 1".  These two piece are what you adhere to the back of the solid butterfly to make it pop up.  View the view on the tips to place your adhesive.

#popup vi

The card base is the standard 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at the 4 1/4".  You need to give this card a try as it gives a WOW with not much effort.  I used the Timeless Tags Thinlit Dies that are in the Occasions Catalog for the little butterfly accent.  Sad to report this set of dies are retiring too.

DON'T FORGET while ordering your retiring items to use the Hostess Code PEXMMHH2 to receive my Nailed It Bundle PDF.  So sad to see this bundle retire too.  Such a great masculine bundle.

Great Storage Solution For Framelits

#storagesolutions #lindabauwin

In today's video, we are going to look at Stampin' Up!'s Stamp Cases. They are the perfect purchase for organizing your stamping supplies.  The standard cases are perfect to store in a DVD Tower.  The wide ones sit nicely on a book case.

Thanks to Marie Beasley from Clayton North Carolina for inspiring this video.   Marie does a lot of scrapbook crops.  That is where you go some where else to create with other like minded crafters.

You want to take everything, this helps a lot with space.  But this storage solutions even helps when you are working at home.  Some times it is hard to go to your Big Shot Machine and locate a die cut to see if it will work nicely on your project.

By cut images out ahead of time, and having in a storage systems like this, they are always with in arms each.  I have these images right beside me with my stamp sets.  Here is a picture of them on my DVD storage rack.

#storagesolution

Check out the video to see how I use the empty embellishment containers for small framelit cut outs.

A Different Type of Retreat

#campjudson #lindabauwin

This past weekend, I was invited back to Camp Judson in North Springfield, PA to share my love of rubber stamping.

Camp Judson is the camp that I do my personal stamp retreats at.  Well that camp offers several times a year a craft retreat.  Well the only retreat I have ever been to is mine.  I always prepared all the projects that my retreat goers do.  So this was a real eye opener for me.

This ladies are SERIOUS crafters.  Check it out.

2017-04-01 12.06.33

2017-04-01 12.06.41

There were quilter, painters, card makers, scrapbookers you name it.  These ladies brought everything.  Kind of like what I do when I do a retreat.  But what I noticed was it was very relaxed and everyone was sharing there projects with each other.  There was a lot of fellowship going on.

So my little brain starting working, that this may be something I will try in the future.  One giant weekend of shoe box projects.  That would be where everyone would bring a project to share with everyone else.  So it wouldn't be all about what I created.  I could enjoy the time creating and those bringing their project could shine.

I would love your feedback on your thoughts about a retreat like this.  Cost would be reduced, if I wasn't creating everything, but then each of you would need to bring a project.  So leave comments at the bottom of this post on your thoughts.

Don't forget about my Customer Appreciation PDF.  So many requested to just purchase the PDF, so I am offering that option for $9.95.  E-mail at jlbauwin@roadrunner.com and I will give the details to get this PDF with exclusive videos.

Richmond Virginia Bound

#onstage2017 #lindabauwin

I am off to Richmond Virginia, where I will be joined by other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.   I'm so excited that OnStage is finally here!

What is OnStage?

OnStage is an exciting events program designed to bring together Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world; it allows them to share the excitement surrounding catalog launches, be recognized for their achievements, receive business training, and feel a part of the global Stampin’ Up! community. OnStage is also a little bit like attending a very big (and very fun!) party. You’ll meet new friends, swap, create Make & Takes, take home free products, and much more!

#centrestagelocal #lindabauwin

Here is my invitation to a special leadership event I will be attending tomorrow night.

What does that mean for you?

#retirementsu #lindabauwin

While I will get to see the new catalog this weekend, you should be gearing up for the new event for you and that is Retirement List.

We all have the want list that we keep thinking we will get next time we order.  Well on Monday April 10 the Retiring List from the Annual Catalog and the Occasion Catalog will be out.  And it is always while supplies last. I promise to get the list posted ASAP so you can get those must have items.

Don't forget my Exclusive Nailed It Bundle Tutorial will still be available in my Online Store with the Hostess Code, when you are ordering your Retiring Items.
