Loving Succulents

#succulentbox #lindabauwin

What do you think?  Look like real Succulents?  Well there not.   They are card stock, and I am loving them.  Why?  Became I kill every house plant I get.  Have beautiful flower gardens outside but inside no way.

I took a piece Crumb Cake Card Stock, and stamped it with the Gorgeous Grunge and the Timeless Textures Stamp Set in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Ink. I then sprayed with Rubbing Alcohol and crunched it up, to give it an aged look.  I then took a Project Life Card Collection Box and covered it with the Crumb Card Stock.

I used this box as a gift box for a dear friend's birthday gift.  But what made the gift come a live is the beautiful succulents on top.  Don't they look real?

#ohsosucculent #lindabauwin

I was so pleased with the look of the gift box.  I can't wait to make more of these beauties.  Watch, as I will have to do a video in the coming days and show you just how easy these succulents come together with the Succulent Framelits Dies found in the Occasions Catalog.  Hard to believe I start the succulents with Old Olive and Crumb Cake Card Stock.

Time is Running Out

Card Share From My Rochester, New York Event

#liftmeupbundle #lindabauwin

Wanted to share a fun card we did at the event I held in Rochester, New York  last weekend.    Jodie and I had so much fun stamping with the 50 wonderful ladies on Saturday.  I thought it would be fun to share some of the cards we made over the coming days.

This card uses the Sunburst Thinlit from the main Stampin' Up Catalog for the background.  The main focus of course is the Hot Air Balloon.

Last April Jodie and I took a ride in a Hot Air Balloon over Salt Lake City.  Something that had been on my bucket list, but I guess I never knew how popular hot air balloons are.  Because this is one of the fastest selling bundles for me in the Occasions Catalog.

It has a fun stamp set called Lift Me Up, with sixteen rubber stamps and matching Framelits Set called Up & Away that has 15 different dies.  As you can tell by the picture some of the dies are different inserts to be placed behind the main balloon.  This allows you to make your balloon very colorful.  Just a really fun set to play with.  Of course there is a bundle that allows you to save 10% when you buy the stamp and dies together.

When you purchase the bundle you are very close to a Free Sale-a-Bration Item.

Twisted Pop-Up Card Video

#twistedpopup #lindabauwin inside

Why did I wait so long to do this creative fold?  Because I felt it was too difficult.  Boy was I wrong.  Once you get the basics down it is an easy creative fold as you will see by the video below.

#twistedpopup #creativefold #lindabauwin

I started with a piece of Smoky Slate that measured 4 1/4" x 11" and it's important to decorate the front first.  I used the beautiful Lift Me Up Bundle.  This bundle matches the Carried Away Designer Series Paper which is a free item with a $50 order until March 31, or while supplies last, during Sale-a-Bration.

To make the pop-up part of the card you need a piece of card stock that measures 3" x 8".  You will score down the center on both ides at 4" on the long side and 1 1/2" on the short side.  Mark at the 2 1/2" from each corner with a pencil, on the top and bottom edge of card stock.

You will score an "X" from mark to mark.  The center of the "X" should match the center of the card stock where the other score lines intersect.  Watch the video as it will help you, this is what scared me, but it is very simple.  Just remember to burnish your score line well.  You will mark 2 1/8" in the center fold of your card and that is where this pop-up goes.

To cover up Pop-up cut to piece of designer series paper that measure 4" x 5 1/4".  Mark at the 2" on the short side and 2" down on each side.  You will cut a triangle to fit inside the card and cover up the center.

The focus piece is 3 3/4" x 11" score in center at 5 1/2" and at 2 3/4" from each end.  This will fold like a "W".  You need 4-2 1/2" x 3 1/2" panels for the focus piece.

To assemble the card, center the booklet at the top of the open card, ends upward just inside the edge, with the back page facing up.  Apply Adhesive to the Pop-Up Mechanism, as show in the video.

Time to share some more great samples done by my TEAM Members with the Party Animal Suite and the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies.

#carrieburr #lindabauwin

Carrie Burr from Hennepin, Illinois create this card.  I love the way Carrie left some of the polka dots in the balloons.  Give them some dimension.  Have you checked out the beautiful Party Animal Designer Series Paper?  Such beautiful colors.

#jenniferhenry #lindabauwin

Jennifer Henry from Henderson, Nevada created this card for the TEAM Challenge.  Check out the card base.  She did a direct-to-paper inking technique to give some great interest to her card.

#junecreagh #lindabauwin

June Creagh from River Vale, New Jersey created this card.  This is the front of the card.  So love the little Party Animal Embellishment hanging down.  And here is the inside of her card.

#junecreaghinside #lindabauwin

June used the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies as they were made to be used as a pop-up in the inside of her card.  I so love the color in Party Animal suite.
