Quick Technique with Detail Dragonfly Thinits Dies

Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies

Have to admit I am in love with these Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.  Today I am going to share a quick technique to use them.

As you will see in the video, you can create die-cut dragonflies in seconds with Thinlits dies and the Big Shot.  The precision plate is also recommended for the detailed dies. There are five thinlit dies in this set.  With a mix of open images and detailed images, these dies can cut detailed die-cuts or frame stamped images. Detailed die includes ejection holes so you can remove the paper easily.

And of course it is a bundle with a fun 10 piece stamp set.  I am excited to share that this bundle will be my Stamp of the Month Kit next month, so stay tune.

This is the card I show you in the video using the Emerald Envy for my main color.  I accented with the In Color Enamel Dots.  Have you given these a try yet?  They are so easy to work with and with the different shapes it just gives some fun detail to your card.

#dragonflythinlits #lindabauwin

This card uses the same technique but this time highlighted with Gold Foil Paper and it look more elegant.  And for the extra bling I added some Gold Sequin Trim

Every time you change the color or the accents you get a totally different look to your card.  Hope you give it a try and share what you come up with.

Now time to check out the video.

Can't Get Enough of Thoughtful Branches

#hydrangeathoughtbranches #lindabauwin

Well from all the talk among demonstrators, Thoughtful Branches is a major hit.  This bundle is probably the most versatile bundle I have seen.  Here is a card with the most poplar pieces of the bundle.  The hydrangea is simply stunning.   With this card I stamped in Sweet Sugarplum on Whisper White and then cut out with the Thinlits.  So simple put so lovely.

As you seen on my post on Thursday this bundle can make some pretty amazing masculine cards too.  This bundle is a must have for every stamper.

Watch over the next couple days, as I share more great sample using the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  And on Monday I will show you my Exclusive Tutorial making a Card Box with 5 cards not shown in these posts.

How do you get this exclusive tutorial from me?  Purchase the Thoughtful Branches Bundle in my Online Store starting on August 2, and use Hostess Code YZ3AH4NA .

You won't want to delay as this bundle is a limited edition and is only available until Aug. 31 or while supplies last.  And we all know what that can mean, it could be gone fast.

Butterfly Shaker Card

#butterflyshakercard #lindabauwin

In today's video I am going to share some quick tips to make a shaker card with any of Stampin' Up!'s Thinlits or Framelits.  I am using the Butterfly Thinlits along with the Layering Circles Framelits.  Have you check out those Layering Circle Framelits?  Love them.

It is always best to cut out your Thinlit or Framelit first and then run though an embossing folder.  I used the Fluttering Folder.  This helps hide any press markers you may get from the thinlit or framelit.

Products you need when making a shaker card like this one are the new Foam Adhesive Strips, and the Window Sheets.  I used the fringe scissors as I find them great to use to make inexpensive fillers for my shaker cards.

Can't wait to see what you creative with your shaker cards.

Check back tomorrow, as I will be sharing another beautiful card using the soon-to-be-released Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  And don't forget I will be releasing more details on August 1 on my Exclusive Tutorial if you purchase the Thoughtful Branches from me.

Creative Inking Blog Hop-Be a Big Shot

#bigshot #lindabauwin

Welcome to the Creative Inking Blog Hop - Be a Big Shot.

Have you stopped for a moment and really thought what a BIG deal the Big Shot really is?  I will never forget when this little machine was introduced at our stamp convention.  I thought wow a $100 for a machine that won't do anything until I buy accessories?  Who's is going to want this?

Well boy was I wrong!  There is nothing little about this machine, it is a BIG stable in my stamp room.  Not many cards don't have something on them that uses this machine.

And now look what has come out on the market.  A must have accessory, the Precision Plate.

#bigshot #precisionbaseplate #lindabauwin

Have you purchased this must have item yet?  If not, you need to as it is a must for any detailed framelits or thinlits.  Like this new set of Thinlits Thoughtful Branches that will be released in August for one month, or while supplies last.  The Precision Plate makes die cutting these detailed framelits or thinlits a snap.

New Got To Have Tools

Had to share the number 1 sellers last weekend at my Mystery Hostess Event.

Bloomin' Heart Framelit Linda Bauwin Big Shot Die Brush

The Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Dies and the Big Shot Die Brush work hand in hand with the Precision Base Plate.  When I first saw the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Die, I had a flashback of other detail dies I have used with not much success.  But when you use the Magnetic PlatformPrecision Base Plate and finish off with the Big Shot Die Brush, it's a snap.   Here is the sandwich you need to use.

Big Shot Sandwich Detail Thinlit Dies Linda Bauwin

The Sandwich

When using the Big Shot, you are taught how to make a good “sandwich” for your card stock.  . . making a good sandwich is especially important when cutting a detailed thinlit such as this.  To make this sandwich you will need (from bottom to top);

  1. Magnetic Platform (#130658)– absolutely the best platform to hold metal dies in place!
  2. Precision Cutting Pad (#139684)– there is no “give” to this cutting pad so it provides additional pressure for a clean cut on the detailed images.
  3. Your card stock and thinlit
  4. Acrylic Cutting Pad

Die Cutting

Here are some additional tips to make sure you get a great cut.

  • For detailed dies, it is recommended to run the die through your Big Shot 3-4 times.
  • The middle of your Big Shot tends to be less tight than the edges so, put your detailed dies towards the edge.
  • When cutting Glimmer Paper, cut the paper from the back side when possible.
  • Each Big Shot is slightly different. Sometimes you may need to add a card stock shim.

Here is the card they made using the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack another big seller and the Sale-a-Bration set Perfect Pairings.

Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Linda Bauwin

Trick when using your Big Shot Die Brush, put in a clear stamp class or box to catch the pieces.   Don't forget Bloomin' Heart Framelit is part of my Stamp of the Month Kit this month.

WOW Dryer Sheet and Thinlits

Dryer Sheet Thinlit, Butterfly Thinnlit_Linda Bauwin

Today's WOW Stamping Moment Video takes yet another look at my favorite thinlits dies the Butterflies.  As you can see, this butterfly has lots of details.  And in the past I shyed away from using a thinlit with so much detail.  It was just too hard to get all the pieces to cut and to get them out.

In past videos, I showed you by using wax paper it really helped with getting the little pieces to come out.  But now with the use of a fabric sheet, it helps so much with keep all the pieces in one place.  Whoever thought of using a dryer is beyond me?

This past weekend, at my TEAM stamp event with everyone using the dryer sheets to cut out the butterflies, it smelled so clean and fresh.  Wish my laundry room always smelled that clean.  Oh maybe if I did less stamping and laundry on more regular bases that would happen.  Guilty.
