Center Slide Card

Center Slide Card_Linda Bauwin

Today's Creative Fold Video uses that fun shrinking thinlit die technique with the fun foam that I showed last Friday on my video.  If you didn't see how to do that technique make sure you check it out.

This center slide card uses two sheets of Whisper White Card Stock that measure 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and one piece measuring 2 1/2" x 5 1/2".

You want to take one of the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Whisper White and make a cut line on both sides by moving your card stock over to the 1 1/4" mark and cut from the bottom of the card stock up to the 4 1/4" you will do this on both sides.

In the middle, between the two cut lines you will score at 5/8", 2 3/4", & 4 1/4".  This is the piece that your 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece will attach too.  Make sure you check out the video for tips on how to cut the top of the slide and how to attach to the other 4 1/4" x 51/2" piece.

Label Love Stamp Set-Going to Retire

Labels_Linda Bauwin

Nice and simple once again.  This card creates the grid look with a good ole' fashion ruler and In Color Marker, Coastal Cabana.  It also used the Label Love Stamp Set which matches the Artisan Label Punch Set both of which are retiring.  And check out those In Color Sequins, you guessed it also retiring.  Make sure you check out the retired list to see if they are still available, as things are going fast.  Stamp set will be with us through the end of May, but accessories are only while supplies last.

Labels Birthday_Linda Bauwin

Another great sample using the Label Love Stamp Set but this time getting a watercolor look.  To do this technique, with the watercolor stripes, you will need watercolor paper and the aqua painter, these two items are not retiring.  Use simply make stripes with your In Color Markers and then watercolor out with your aqua painter.  Now that is a simple colorful background.

Time is running out to get items that soon will be retired.

Saying Some More Goodbyes to Retiring Items

Mosaic Madness_linda Bauwin

Don't know if you noticed that even though by favorite thing is cards with creative folds, that is why all the YouTube Videos with creative fold cards, I still love the clean simple cards.  This card is just like yesterday quick and easy using the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set, that soon will be retired.

This card also uses the Designer Series Washi Tape Beach House that we seen in yesterday's card, but it also showcases the Happiness is Project Life Accessory Pack, and the Thick Baker's Twine Brown Sugar.

Have you ever used the Project Life Accessory Pack in your card making? All I can say is wow it makes it go so fast.

Little Buddy Birthday _Linda Bauwin

The second card is also quick and easy and uses the Little Buddy Birthday Set and Thick Baker's Twine, this time in Strawberry Slush, and Happiness Is Project Life Card Collection.

Doesn't get easier than that.  Make sure you grab these stamp sets and accessories before they are gone for good.

Shrinking Thinlit Dies

Shrinking Thinlit Dies_Linda Bauwin

Okay this technique is way too cool, the video doesn't do it justice.  I am so thankful that Judy Goodyear from Rochester, New York shared this technique with me.   Now we can have different size layers with the same thinlit die.

Shrinking Thinlits_Linda Bauwin

It is nice being able to change the size of the words with the Hello You Thinlit Dies, but by favorite Thinlit Die to use the Butterflies.  Especially the Swallowtail as it is large and can over power your card, but when you shrink it with the fun foam it is just perfect for any project.

What will you be doing this weekend?  Sure hope if you are in the Akron, Ohio area that you stop by and visit Jay & I at our booth at Adventure's in Stamping.

Jay will be doing this technique as the make-n-take.  So come give this technique a try.

I will be offering free shipping on a $50 during the show.  And don't forget the retirement list will be out with some great savings.

Using Those Adorable Daubers

Stampin' Up! releases YouTube Videos every so often to help inspire us.  Well this month they released a video using the must have daubers.  I so love daubers.

This video from Stampin' Up! is a little different, as there is no speaking. Just a catchy little tune.  Guess that is because daubers need no words to explain them.  Unlike my video on Tuesday that posted with no sound.  Daubers are very easy to use.

I usually use daubers for sponging around the edges of my card stock.  But Stampin' Up! shows us how to use with our decorative masks.  Not the ancient tribal kind-the spritzing, sponging, tracing, and embossing kind. They create awesome backgrounds.

Stampin' Up! carries two different sets of decorative masks, one with the Hearts & Stars, that is used in the video.  The other set has Dots and Stripes.

So sit back and enjoy this quick snappy video from SU!

Got plans for the weekend?

Adventures

I hope your plans include joining Jay and I in Akron, Ohio at the Adventure's in Stamping stamp convention.  This will be the 16th year for us to have a booth with this convention.

Where can you find us?  As soon as you walk through the door, our booth will be the first on the right-hand side.  And there you will find Jay smiling away surrounded by women doing his make-n-take.

He says he has it made, women waiting in line to stamp with him, giving hugs and kisses, while his wife smiles the whole time.  Ask him and he will tell you it doesn't get better than that.

Make sure you check out the retired stamping list before you come, as I am offering free shipping at the show with a $50 order.  By placing an order at the show, it will guarantee you to be one of the first to receive the new 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalog from me, the first of next month.

See you at Adventure's in Stamping.

And don't forget this week's Weekly Deals.
