In today's Video, I am going to show you a beautiful card using the Merriest Wishes Bundle. When you first look at this bundle, all you think is tags. But in the next several videos, I will be showing you beautiful cards done with this set. Today's card is so stunning in person.
In addition to the Merriest Wishes Bundle, I used the bow and pine boughs from the Pine Bough Thinlit Dies, another great bundle for Christmas Project. In the background you will see I used the Pine Bough Textured Embossing Folder.
The base card is 5 1/2" x 11". The Real Red Card Stock measures 4" x 5 1/4" and the Whisper White Piece that I ran through the Pine Bough Folder and stamped with the Emerald Envy Ink measures 3 3/4" x 5".
I did not remember to use the great tip on using tear and tape to help with adhere these fine thinlits to my project. Have you seen that tip? If not you can check it out in this video.
So glad you join us on our Creative Inking Blog Hop with the theme Thankfulness. This theme has a special place in my heart. A little over a year ago, when my life turned upside down, my Pastor's Wife suggested I started a Gratitude Journey. Well it is much easier to be thankful and be filled with gratitude when things are going along good in your life. But unfortunately, when life is going well we sometimes forget to take the time to be thankful for what we have.
Well, when your life turns upside down it is extremely hard to be full of Thankfulness and find gratitude in each day. But if you make it a practice every day, no matter what is happening in your life, you will find an inner peace that will make each day a little bit brighter.
So I challenge you to think of some one you are thankful for, and send them a card and let them know what they mean to you. Life is short and precious be thankful for each moment you have with someone special in your life.
My card share is from the the Basket of Wishes stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. Check out all the beautiful verses to bring a smile to someone special in your life.
The Number of Years Stamp Set is one of those most have stamp sets for every stamp room. It makes making those special celebration cards a snap. Especially when you have the Large Numbers Framelits to go with the set.
We all have those special milestone celebration to make cards for. When you have this stamp set and framelits you can personalize your card with the year or number of years.
Take this card I did for a 10th Anniversary. If you save this card design, you could use it for a milestone birthday. Just simply change the words.
There are so many possibilities, when you have numbers to accent the card to make it personal to the celebration.
Do you have this great stamp set and framelits? If not you need to get as it is a great value that you will use over and over again for those special celebrations and milestones in your life.
Today's Swing Easel card is a card we did at my August Stamp Retreat. I wanted to show you how to do the cutting for this card. There is no stamping in the video, but something I didn't mention in the video, that I wanted to point out is the Green Label on the base of the card. I used the frame & verse stamps from the Rose Wonder set. You need to place this at the base of the card with a dimensional and that is what hold the easel card up.
I started with a piece of 5" x 10" Card Stock. On the side of one of the 5" x 5" I went in 1" and started cutting at the 1" to the 2 1/4" inside mark. Then I lifted my cutting blade and started cutting again at the 2 3/4" to the 4". Then I moved my paper in 1/8" of an inch and did the same cutting. Started at the 1" to the 2 1/4" lifted blade and started cutting again to the 2 3/4" and stop at the 4". You want to do the same cutting on the opposite side of the card stock.
I then cut on the other two ends (bottom of the card and the top along the fold the same way as the other two side. Using the fold line as a guide to move in 1" and 1 1/8".
For the Designer Series Paper you will need a piece that measures 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". You will move paper in 3/4" and will start cutting at the 3/4" to the 4" on all four corners.
You will score the card base at 1 7/8", 2 1/4" and 2 3/4" just on the outside of the frame. In the video, I scored the middle all the way through and you won't do that. Even though my center piece that measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" will cover that score line.
Two weddings in the same week is pretty amazing for me, since it's been a while since I have been invited to a wedding. And the neat thing is both were in my stamp family at one time. I am so grateful for all the wonderful women that have been brought into my life because of stamping.
The set I decided to use for their cards is the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set with the Flourish Thinlits Dies. The dies add such elegance to the card. But I so love all the beautiful verses in this set. And the one for weddings is so fitting. The one says "Marriage is a Journey". And that is so true marriage is a journey that changes among the seasons.
But the verse I like the most says "Good thing you get to bring your best friend along". If you marry your best friend you can face the journey of marriage so much better.
Wishing Shawni and Tracy many happy and healthy years ahead as they approach their new journey in life. Joseph and Alan are two very lucky men to be marry two beautiful women inside and out.
I have been focusing a lot lately for Christmas, even though it is two months away. If you are going to make Christmas Cards, you really need to start as soon as you can, because if you don't you won't end up making Christmas Cards.
We all usually make more Christmas Cards at one time. More then any other cards. I personally am finding though that I am sending more Thanksgiving Cards lately then in years past.
This card is a very cute Thanksgiving card done with the Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set. This set coordinates with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch which is part of the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle.
Have you noticed how Stampin' Up! is coming out with more and more products that go with other similar products, like the Cookie Cutter Punch?
Sure makes it a much better purchase when you can use it in so many ways.
There are lots of other new product in this card. Take a like the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, the Kraft Ripe Trim , the beautiful Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper and the beautiful words from the Paisley & Posies Stamp Set.
That's a lot of new product from the Holiday Catalog in one Thanksgiving Card.
Today's video just shows another fun way to use Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. Designer Series Paper really makes card making so easy. And with all the coordinating colors there is nothing to think about.
Did you notice that Stampin' Up! has added Card Stock Packs for each of the Designer Series Paper? That way you have the right colors to match the Designer Series Paper. So don't forget to purchase the coordinating packs of card stock when you purchase your designer series paper.
On today's card I used the Festive Embossing Folder, the Layering Circle Framelits and the In Color Enamel Shapes. Have you given these Enamel Shapes a try yet? They are the perfect embellishment because they don't add weight or bulk to your card.
Here are the measurements for today's card:

Check out this display of tags done with the Merriest Wishes Bundle. As I said yesterday. I featured this bundle at the Make-n-Take Night at the Adventure's in Stamping on Friday Night, but made them in to cards.
Well on Saturday was the convention and my Assistant Jodie Daniels did the make-n-take in the booth all day. She did the shaker tag with the snow bottom left side. Seemed to be a big hit as there was ladies waiting to do it most of the day.
I am so blessed with Jodie. She is not a stamper, even though she did the make-n-take in my booth from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and did a fabulous job.
When I say she isn't a stamper I mean she doesn't stamp for herself. That's right it is so hard, to believe she doesn't even own a stamp but works for me and I am so grateful. She truly keeps me moving forward.
Have you even been to the Adventure's in Stamping Stamp Convention? They hold it twice a year in Ohio. In the spring it is held in Akron, OH at the John S. Knight Convention Center.
Next spring it will be held April 29-30 so make your calendar.
In the fall it is held in Strongsville, Ohio. It has been held in Ocotber in the past years, but I am hearing it will be moved to September next year. Watch for more details to come.
Last Friday I was asked to be one of the eight make-n-take teachers at Adventure's in Stamping Stamp Convention in Strongsville, Ohio. I have had the privilege of being part of this convention for the last 18 years. The Make-n-Take night on Friday is some thing new that was started a couple years ago.
The night is a fast pace night of make-n-takes. There are eight teachers and we have 10 new stampers in our make-n-take class every 20 minutes. That means we stamp with 80 new stampers that evening.
I decided to focus on the Merriest Wishes Bundle. Which is a bundle with 11 rubber stamps and 7 dies.
When one first looks at this bundle, all they see and think is tags. That is why I decided to use this bundle and make some cards. Every one who took part in this event got to make the bottom card. But I had the display board with the other two cards so they could see the possibilities that can be done with this bundle.
I was pleased with the results, as many bought this bundle and admitted they hadn't given it a second look until they saw the cards. That makes a me happy, as I know I did a good job showing them possibilities they hadn't thought of.
Check back tomorrow as I share tags I made from this bundle. Would you like to add this bundle to your stamp collection? Order It Now By Clicking Here.
