Take a Look at the At Home with You Bundle

Time to check out another soon to be released item the At Home with You Bundle.  This is another what I am calling two-step framelits collection.  The bundle has a 25 piece Photopolymer Stamp Set and a 12 piece Framelits Die Set.  Oh course it is featured as a bundle which saves you 10%.

Why am I calling this a two-step framelits collection?  Well you have a framelit die that cuts the door and frame out but then you have a second step you can do to cut the door out, so a 'two-step framelits collection".

Stampin' Up! trainer, Brandi, showcases the At Home with You Bundle from the 2017-2018 annual catalog. Open the door to your creativity with this "a-door-able" bundle, containing the At Home with You Stamp Set and coordinating At Home Framelits Dies.

Only three short days and you will be able to order this exclusive At Home with You Bundle.

In two short days all the retiring items will be gone.  Maybe it's time to take one last look at what is retiring so you don't miss out on anything.  Remember my Anniversary of 20 Free 6" x 6" Assorted Designer Series will also be going away on May 31.

Time To Take A Closer Look At The New Stampin' Up! Catalog

In just 5 more days, we will be able to start ordering out of this beautiful New 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I have been able to order a small portion of items from this catalog, but come June 1st I can get everything I want.  Think Stampin' Up! needs to add an item number "get it all".

Thought today I would share some videos Stampin' Up! has designed to showcase some of the poplar items in this beautiful catalog.

Check Out this video on the adorable new card kit called Soft Sayings

It’s easy to create a stack of all-occasion cards with the all-inclusive Soft Sayings Card Kit.  Stampin' Up! trainer, Holly, gives you some tips and tricks for creating the cards that come in the kit. This card kit makes 20 cards, 2 each of 10 designs, using the included Soft Sayings Stamp Set. There is also a refill kit so you can keep on making!   The refill kit is new to this catalog and is a very nice feature.

The stamp set Soft Sayings is included with the kit which has 15 Photopolymer Stamps, plus a clear stamp block.  You will also get all the printed card bases and coordinating printed envelopes, giftable kraft box, die-cut accent, Baker's Twine, Washi Tape and Stampin Dimensionals, and Stampin Spot.

This is a perfect gift idea for the stamper in your family.  Or to stamp all the cards and give as gifts.

I can't wait to start sharing this new Card Kit.

Sunset Galaxy Sky Stamping Technique

#sunsetgalaxyskytechnique #lindabauwin

Today's Video features a Stamping Technique called Sunset Galaxy Sky Technique.  This technique was shared during my TEAM Technique Challenge by a member of my Stamp Family Mary Ann Rossiter.

Mary Ann was one of the winners of my TEAM Challenge and she received a Gift Certificate, which she is choosing to hold on to until the release of the New Catalog, next Thursday June 1st.

Here is the card that I showcased in today's video.  I followed Mary Ann's directions but I chose to use the following colors when I sponged with the daubers.

As you will see in the video, burnishing these colors into Whisper White Card Stock gives the appearance of the colors in a sunset.  Then I used the Aqua Painter to spatter some water.  Then I followed that step by stamping with the Timeless Textures Stamp Set with the White Craft Stampin' Ink.

This is such a stunning look.  I used the oldest stamp set I had to stamp the trees, Lovely as a Tree.   This stamp set has been around long than me.  It is still a go to stamp set.  Do you have it in your collection?

Now watch the video for more tips.  Make sure you join my as I start the countdown to the new catalog as I showcase some of the fun new products with video.

Take A Close Look At Stampin' Up!'s New In Colors

Are you like me every year when Stampin' Up! announces the New In Colors, I think I don't like them?  But after I work with them I fall in love.  Well that is what is happening again this year.  I have had a couple months of playing with them and there are some great favorites.  So let's take a look at them compared with some of our current colors.  First my favorite Berry Burst.

#incolor #berryburst #lindabauwin

When I first saw Berry Burst I thought oh we have so many pinks already.  But look at how different they look when they are side by side.  I know Berry Burst is going to be my favorite go to New In Color.

Next let's look at Lemon Lime Twist.  Now this was my least favorite when I first looked at the New In Colors.  But if you have been following my blog, you know I am loving it will the Dapper Denim.  I have also been using it will grays and blacks and really loving that combination.  You will have to check at the bottom of this post for some cool color combinations.

#incolor #lemonlimetwist #lindabauwin

The new Powder Pink is a much needed new Pink, it reminds me of our old Pretty in Pink.  It is just a soft baby pink.

#incolor #powderpink #lindabauwin

Fresh Fig gives us another purple shade, which we were lacking in the purple for a couple years.  But Fresh Fig is a great addition.

#incolor #freshfig #lindabauwin

Last let's look at Tranquil Tide with some of the other green shades.

#incolor #tranquiltide #lindabauwin

Once again I thought Tranquil Tide was so close to other colors we already had, but when you take a closer look there is a lot of difference.

I am so excited I have a TEAM Challenge going on, for those demonstrators in my Stamp Family.  They are to use the New In Colors.  Can't wait to show you what they have coming up with.  Some have already come in and all I can say is stunning.  So stay tune.

Take a look at this great In Color Combination Chart.

Look What I Got

#saradouglas #lindabauwin

I am sure you are thinking what???  It's a card done with the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set and the Tree Builder Punch, what's so exciting about that.  Maybe this clue will help.

#makeacardsendacard #lindabauwin

#saradouglasceosu #lindabauwin

It came from the CEO of Stampin' Up! Sara Douglass.  Now you see the excitement?

On May 4th Sara did a Facebook Live and talked about her plan to make cards and send them to women who have impacted her life for good during the month of May. She stated, it's always a good time to#MakeACardSendACard right?  It's also #arthritisawarenessmonth which is something Shelli, Sara's Mom is struggling with, so for her it's a double-whammy!   She invited others to join her and hashtag your cards #MakeACardSendACard so we can all see them. ❤️

#makeacardsendacard @asarathing #lindabauwin

Well I was honored to not only get a card but a call from Sara to Congratulate me on my 1.1 Million Dollars in Career Sales.

Sara and I talked for about an hour about my business, and concerns.  Sara listen to my feedback and said she appreciated my being open and honest about my concerns.  The phone call met a lot but the card OVER THE TOP, it brought a tear to think Sara would take the time to send me a card and say she values me.

When is the last time you sent a card?  We are all good at making them.  BUT...it is the sending the card that makes the difference.  So I challenge you today to #makeacardsendacard today.  And make someone's day like Sara did mine.  Thanks Sara.

Center Opening Card

Today's Creative Fold Video features a Center Opening Card using the beautiful Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  So love the look of the black with the gold.

#centeropening #easternpalace #lindabauwin

I used the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers that come in the Suite Bundle.  I have never used stickers on a card before the Eastern Palace Suite Bundle.  And I will have to say I really like it, gives the card a new look.  Reminder only until May 31 can you get this product at a 10% discount.  It will be in the new catalog but not as a bundle.

The Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper has heavy weight paper that has gold trim.  It really pairs nicely with the Gold Glimmer Paper. I used the Layering Circles to cut the Gold Glimmer Out.

This card is one of those simpler creative fold cards.  So if you have never tried a Creative Fold Card, this would be a great place to start.

The sizes of card stock and scoring are as follows, but make sure you check out the video as the scoring and cutting will make more sense.

  • 4 1/4" x 11" Basic Black Card Stock Score at the 5 1/2" mark.  Then along each side it is cut in one inch up to the score line.
  • 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper cut at 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  • 2" x 5 1/4" Whisper White Card Stock for center

It's Always Been About SU! Colors

WOW it's always been about color with Stampin' Up!  Even twenty years ago when I started as a demonstrator with this company.  Check out the catalog I started with.

1996-1997 Stampin Up Catalog

You can see a big difference from the front of the catalog.  Compared to the detail on the front cover of this year's catalog.  And even though I was in love with all the colors twenty years ago, they were not as beautiful as today's colors.  But they were top of the line.

I have seen many color refresh over my twenty years as a demonstrator.  I think the biggest change in color is when we started making our own designer series papers.  Now we even have Concept Artist that hand paint some of our Designer Series Paper.

This year's paper is over the top.  We have so many new prints.  I thought maybe you would like to check out Stampin' Up!'s newest Designer Series Paper by watching this YouTube Video.

The video does give you a hint of the beauty of this paper.  But the best way to see how great it is, is in person.  So make sure you make it to one of my open coming events, where I will have a sample of this beautiful paper for you to see.  For now sit back and enjoy the video.

Don't forget about my 20 Year Anniversary Special going on right now until May 31, where you can get 20 sheets of assorted 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper when you use Hostess Code Z36N3C2J in my Online Store.

Time For A Stamp Technique Video

#margievandergraff #lindabauwin

Today's video was inspired by the card above created by Margie Vandergraff from Noblesville IN.   She submitted the card in my technique challenge.  Margie called the technique Faux Silk.  I have heard it called Faux Linen also.  It is hard to tell from the picture, but this technique really gives dimension to your card.  You will see in the video when I create the card below.

#stamptechnique #lindabauwin

I used the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can get right now in the Eastern Palace Suite Bundle.  I love the Dapper Denim and the Gold in this paper.  I used the Wild About Flowers Stamp Set and the 1/8" Gold Ribbon for an accent.

You will see in the video this technique adds texture to your design and gives your card a little pizzazz.

You want to cut a piece of white tissue paper slightly larger than your white piece of card stock.

Stamp image of your choice on the tissue paper using black ink.  If your tissue paper has a glossy side you want to stamp on the non-glossy side.  If your stamp image is an open image you can use Stampin' Write Markers to color in.  I used a solid stamp on my card, so I got my color from my ink pad.

Next you want to crumple tissue into a ball.  Carefully open and flatten slightly.

Cover the white card with glue using a glue stick.  Place stamped and colored tissue over the glue and flatten leaving some of the wrinkles.  You can trim edges of tissue even with the card stock or tuck behind the white card stock.

For a softer look you can stamp image on white card stock and color.  Crumb a piece of tissue paper, open and flatten slightly then glue on top of design.  Trim edges as before.
